A Call for Help (Typhoon Ondoy Victims)

Be generous and you will be prosperous. Help others, and you will be helped.
The Bible, Proverbs 11:25

I really admire the efforts and help that the media and showbiz people impart during the peak of the storm Ondoy. And I believe that Cris Aquino really did a great job of encouraging big companies to donate and help these people who are greatly affected by the storm. Kim Atienza even commented “Nagiging big time ang mga donations kapag si Cris ang nakaupo sa set (donations become big time when Cris is sitting on the set)”. And good thing that these companies and people hear the call for Filipino’s Bayanihan Spirit. Though help have been very abundant during these calamity, but the victims is also numerous enough to consume the supplies that have been brought to them.

I am from Cebu and I do do have relatives and friends in Manila who are also affected by the calamity. All I can really do is blog and encourage those who are fortunate enough to please help. It’s been 4 days now but still a lot of people are trapped in their own houses and some of them are children, elderly and sick people. Below are ways of sending your donations. Thank you so much in advance.

MY COMPLETE UPDATE

HAHAHA as usual, having an update post for my blog really is so hard for me. But anyways, here are my updates after a long time of silence. There are lots of topicsto write.

The Family (Jacob, Jake and Me)

Well what can I say, I am so overwhelmed with all the blessings that God have given us this past few months. I have written in my previos blog (dhamphire.uni.cc) that jacob is already in his nursery class this year, and I really do have a lot of updates for my son. He is really doing good in school, considering that he is still 3 years old when he entered class. This wednesday, they just started their 3-day exam for the month of August. And I must say that I really had a hard time keeping him in his study habits lately. I know that your a bit mixed up, Jacob is doing good but I’m having a hard time keeping him in his study habits; well here’s the explanation. His teacher say that Jacob is really doing great in his age, that he is even an advance pupil and that we should not force him to really focus on his studies, but what happened was he somewhat become addicted to the PC, yah the computer. Speaking of being good, Jacob is really very good at it. Like Turning on and off, opening and using games and application and even using them. he really have mastered all of it. Some of the applications that he really frequently use are Nero movie player(and i’m telling you, he’s really good at it. all the navigation stuffs and the right clicks), Adobe Photoshop CS2(hahaha wait til’ you see his arts), Encarta Kids(he loves watching videos of animal specially the shark and playing the games also), and many more. He is really good at it including gaming application like Counter Strike that really makes me worried because as what I have said. he is really mastering it and I don’t like the idea that he is good at Counter Strike and other games of that kind. it’s just so violent for a 3 year old kid like him. So guess what I did. I hide the AVR so he can no longer use the PC. So now i think I did it. he is now have more passion with his studies and his books, and I’m happy with that. One thing that is making me happy is that after 2 months that I had my Job at Supportsave(and of  ourse still at supportsave), Jake(my Honey) also had his job now(yeyyyyyy)… Now maybe we can start a savings account for our wedding hehehehe… and also for our future. I can really say that I’m now contented with my life. And i can also see that Jake is also trying his best to make our family’s welfare be better. I love you honey… and Baby Ecob… Mwahhhh..Mwahhh…

The Computer

As what I have mentioned, the computer was not being used for a long time because of Jacob. And it really works for him. but not for the PC :( . Possibly molds formulated inside the PC due to longtime of being used and when we are about to use it guess what…. A part of the Hard Drive’s circuit melted… Why should it be the hard drive, why not the memory or anything else! I am really sad… all my files are there.

My Work

All I can say is that I’m really happy with my job because I know that it’s my field and I’m enjoying it a lot. And our client is really good to us he even care to send us pizza(straight from US) hahaha.. just kidding, he had someone to do it for him. I really like it here at Supportsave.

The Video (Awesome Fight Attendant)

Here is a video i found in one of the blogs that I visited, and It is really worth sharing. just watch the video and you will be amazed.. View the video here because unfortunately i can’t have it posted here.

Choosing an Analytics Program

Analytics in an important element of SEO — the method by which you monitor the effectiveness of your web site. Analytics are the metrics that show you how pages, links, keywords, and other elements of your web site are performing. If your web host hasn’t provided you with an analytics program, find one. Not having an analytics program is like walking around in the dark,

hoping you won’t bump into a wall.Many web-site owners tend to turn their backs from analytics packages because they appear to be complicated as
well as expensive. However, they don’t always have to be. You can find a good analytics program that’s not only easy to use but is also inexpensive or even free. But use caution about making ease and low cost the deciding factors when selecting an analytics program. The program will give you the power to see and control how your web site performs against your
goals and expectations. You want it to show you everything you need to know, so here are some considerations when you’re evaluating analytics programs:

  • What reports are included in the tools you’re examining, and how will you use those reports?
  • How do you gather the information used to create the metrics you need?
  • How often are your reports updated?
  • How much training is necessary to understand your application and the reports provided?
  • Do you get software installation or is the product provided strictly as a web-based service?
  • What is the total cost of ownership?
  • What types of support are available?
  • What is the typical contract length?

Many analytics programs are available to you. Google Analytics, AW Stats, JayFlowers, ClickTracks, and dozens of others all offer something different at a different price tag. If “free” is what you can afford, don’t assume you’ll get a terrible package. Google Analytics is one of the free packages available;
it’s an excellent program and is based on what used to be the Urchin  analytics package (which was quite costly). Other programs cost anywhere from $30 to $300 a month, depending on the capabilities you’re purchasing. The cost is not the most important factor, however. Ultimately, your consideration should be how the analytics package can help you improve your business.

Major Search Engines and Directories

There aren’t tons of major search engines any more. Since all of the consolidation in the industry, there are only a handful of really large search engines and directories. But there are hundreds of smaller ones that range from very general to very specific in nature

List of Major Search Engines and Directories:

  • Google: www.Google.com
  • Yahoo! Directory: http://dir.yahoo.com/
  • Yahoo! Search Engine: www.yahoo.com/
  • Open Directory Project: www.dmoz.org
  • Microsoft: www.live.com

What Is a Search Engine?

Maybe some people think that  Search Engine is just typing a word or phrase into a search box and clicking a button. Wait a few seconds, and references to thousands (or hundreds of thousands) of pages will appear. Then all you have to do is click through those pages to find what you want, That’s basically the concept of a search engine. But what exactly is a search engine, beyond this general concept of “search and find”? It’s a little complicated. On the back end, a search engine is a piece of software that uses applications to collect information about web pages. The information collected is usually key words or phrases that are possible indicators of what is contained on the web page as a whole, the URL of the page, the code that makes up the page, and links into and out of the page. That information is then indexed and stored in a database. On the front end, the software has a user interface where users enter a search term a word or phrase in an attempt to find specific information. When the user clicks a search button, an algorithm then examines the information stored in the back-end database and retrieves links to web pages that appear to match the search term the user entered.

The process of collecting information about web pages is performed by an agent called a crawler, spider, or robot. The crawler literally looks at every URL on the Web, and collects key words and phrases on each page, which are then included in the database that powers a search engine. Considering that the number of sites on the Web went over 100 million some time ago and is increasing by more than 1.5 million sites each month, that’s like your brain cataloging every single word you read, so that when you need to know something, you think of that word and every reference to it comes to mind.

A Tribute to Cory, an Icon of Democracy

Cory, an Icon of democracy

Cory, an Icon of democracy

For so many years now, This Simple Housewife turned president gave the nation courage, inspiration and hope. Freed us, gave us back our freedom and lead the nation to where it is today. President Cory Aquino has given me and all of us enough reason to be proud of who we are. Filipinos.

Now that She’s gone, It’s our duty to preserve and value all what she have fought for and care for our country the way she have cared for us.  And I truly admire the courage that they have showed the people in this time of national mourning. You guys are not alone. The whole nation is joining you.

I Have Fallen In Love

written by: Senator Ninoy Aquino

music by: Jose Marie Chan

I have fallen in love
with the same woman three times;
In a day spanning 19 years
of tearful joys..and joyful tears.

I loved her first when she was young,
enchanting and vibrant, eternally new..
she was brilliant, fragrant,
and cool as the morning dew.

I fell in love with her the second time;
when first she bore her child and mine
always by my side, the source of my strength,
helping to turn the tide..

But there were candles to burn
the world was my concern;
while our home was her domain..
and the people were mine
while the children were hers to maintain;

So it was in those eighteen years and a day..
’till I was detained; forced in prison to stay.

Suddenly she’s our sole support;
source of comfort,
our wellspring of Hope..
on her shoulders felt the burden of Life..

I fell in love again,
with the same woman the third time.
Looming from the battle,
her courage will never fade

Amidst the hardships she has remained,
undaunted and unafraid..
she is calm and composed,
she is God’s lovely maid..

“The Icon of Democracy may have faded
but surely it would leave a trace
to everyone who have witnessed”

Starting all over again with frustrations.

I am really frustrated with what happened to my blog that was hosted free at 000webhost.com. at first, I can’t log in to my control panel so i check my 000webhost acount to see if there are any problems and i found out that i need to chnage my dns from ns01 to dns1 which i deed but after 2 days of waiting my blog still won’t show up, the browser just keeps on loading. I really feel so sad. That was a 1 year and 3 months old blog and it’s really hard to accept the fact that it’s gone. :( NOw I need to start all over again. And this time i decided to place my blog here under wordpress.com to insure that there will be no same problems as before to take place… :(
